EcoMakeIt Cream – Emulsifying blend

EcoMakeit Cream

  • Very easy way to create a stable cream or lotion.
  • Natural Source self-emulsifier for oil-in-water emulsions. This system is based on vegetable source lactylates, which are conditioning to both hair and skin. The anionic lactylates are produced by a reaction between the acyl group of fatty acids and lactic acid. Lactic acid and fatty acids are natural moisturizing factor (NMF) constituents that are found in the skin. The lactylates are excellent viscosity enhancers, stabilizers, and conditioners.

Glyceryl Stearate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate

All-natural oil-in-water emulsifier (enables water & oil to mix), enhanced skin feels due to acyl lactylates. 2-10%, typically about 8%. For external use only.

All kinds of cosmetics requiring emulsification as lotions, creams, lip balm, lip sticks. Emulsions can be prepared easily by incorporating EcoMakeit cream in the oil phase and then heating it 70-80c. then heat the water phase separately to 70-80c. Once the two phases reach this temperature, the water phase is added to the oil phase in a thin stream using mechanical agitation. The emulsion is then stirred down to a temperature above the solidification point of the cream (to 30c for a lotion). These emulsions are very stable, easy spreading systems, but can be homogenized if desired. A preservative should always be added to protect against bacterial growth. Because EcoMakeit cream is partially composed of Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, it should be used at a pH of 5 or above to ensure long term stability.

TIP: For more complex formulations, add of 0.2 to 0.5% of one of the natural thickeners such as Xanthan Gum or Irish Moss (Carrageenan), to stabilize the emulsion.
