100% pure Coconut Oil Fractionated Grade A
As its name indicates, Fractionated Coconut Oil is a split of the coconut oil from which nearly all long triglycerides of the long chain have been removed, thus primarily leaving the triglycerides of the middle chain and making d It is a completely saturated oil. Also, fractionation triggers the concentration of caprylic acid and capric acid, thus giving it more antioxidants and disinfecting effects.
Unlike solid coconut oil, fractionated coconut oil is colorless and odorless. It is an oil with a dry touch that does not leave a greasy film on the skin. It does not freeze and remains liquid.
Fractionated coconut oil is often used in the production of cosmetic products, such as balms or creams. It is indeed a dry oil to the touch. Ideal in body oil or massage oil, it is very quickly absorbed by the skin and facilitates the penetration of active ingredients, especially essential oils. It helps moisturize and soften the skin.
The fractionated coconut oil is very stable and insensitive to oxidation. This makes it an ideal base for the manufacture of cold saponified soaps, oily macerates or other plant extracts.
Because of its high proportion of lauric acid and capric acid, fractionated coconut oil is widely used in hair care, in particular for the treatment of dry hair. Its fluid texture makes it easy to dilute thicker oils, such as castor oil and makes knotting easier. It restores shine to dry and damaged hair.
Coconut oil is extracted from the meat of matured coconut of the coconut palm, Coco lucifera. The plant and its oil production are known to most tropical countries of the world like Sri Lanka, Burma, Indonesia, Philipines, Java, and India. It is also very common in Western African and the Amazon areas of Brazil.
HOW IS IT MADE?
The fractionation process removes or separates certain components such as long chain triglycerides and only retains the medium chain triglycerides. This process significantly improves the stability of this oil and extends its life. This oil also has a very high concentration of capric acid and lauric acid.
*It’s important to note that being on this list doesn’t promise that it will work for your skin type.* Our skin will decide which oil it likes the most and remember that skin takes two weeks to turn over so anything that pops up between week 1-2 was probably already going to happen.
Like other substances that are high in fat, 100% pure coconut carrier oils have a limited shelf life. Meaning that eventually they will go bad. It’s important to store 100% pure coconut oils in their original air-tight containers in a cool, dark place, such as the pantry, to maximize shelf life.
All containers that we use including 100% coconut pure oil are BPA and GMO free. Bottles less than 16oz are not sealed.
